Bede School Publications
All the publications listed below are in Image PDF format, and include thumbnail previews.

If publication download times are protracted, and you consider you may wish to view a publication again, then save it on your system.
An alternative way of displaying publications is being introduced. This obviates the need to download a complete document, pages are downloaded
when needed. These will duplicate existing available publications, and the links to them will be coloured green. Comments would be welcomed.
Publication dates are colour coded. 'Blue' and 'Green' indicates the publications are available to be viewed now.
'Red' is used to indicate publications which are believed to have been published, but are not currently available.
'Portrait of a School' gives an indication of what it was like to have been at Bede School during it's initial sixty years.
A history of the first sixty years is covered in 'The Diamond Jubilee', while a complete history is available
in 'The Bede School Centenary'
There were four magazines published over the life of the school,
'The Bedan', 'Bedan', 'The Old Bedan', and 'Bedan' again, for the Comprehensive era.
Publication of 'The Bedan' began in December 1898. In the initial years it covered both schools, and was published six times per year.
Frequency of publication was reduced after the first two years, and publication months varied until publication number 45 was reached in August 1919.
There was then a break in publication until it was resumed in 1924, but as a magazine for the Girls School. 'The Bedan' was retained as the name
for the magazine , but with the sequence number discontinied.
'Bedan', a new magazine for the Boys School, was introduced in 1926, and it carried on with the original numbering sequence.
Very few copies of 'Bedan' have been found. The loan of copies of any of those missing would be appreciated.
